چکیده
Abstract Nowadays, end customers require personalized products to match their specific needs. Thus, production systems must be extremely flexible. Companies typically exploit assembly lines manufacture produces in great volumes. The development of distinguished by mixed or multi models increases flexibility concerning the number product variants able manufactured. However, few scientific contributions deal with customizable products, i.e., which can designed and ordered requiring not a large set available accessories. This manuscript proposes an original two-step procedure multi-manned for customized manufacturing. first step groups accessories together clusters according similarity index. belonging cluster are requested necessitate significant mounting time. this aims split same different operators avoiding overloads. second consists innovative optimization model defines tasks accessory assignment operators. Furthermore, developed activity time schedule compliance task precedencies maximizing operator workload balance. An industrial case study is adopted test validate proposed procedure. obtained results suggest superior balancing such lines, average worker utilization rate greater than 90%. worst scenario terms customer requirement, just 4 line out 16 maximum cycle

Assembly line balancing to minimize balancing loss and system loss
Assembly Line production is one of the widely used basic principles in production system. The problem of Assembly Line Balancing deals with the distribution of activities among the workstations so that there will be maximum utilization of human resources and facilities without disturbing the work sequence. Research works reported in the literature mainly deals with minimization of idle time i.e...

there are some machineries and equipments as well as relatively fix amount of human resources involved in any production process. in many cases, by observing operational method of a process, one may see that some of these machineries are not working, but on the other hand, other equipments are continuously working, and many parts are set in front of them, waiting to be set up over machines to c...
متن کامل‘BALANCING AND SEQUENCING’ VERSUS ‘ONLY BALANCING’ IN MIXED MODEL U-LINE ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS: AN ECONOMIC ANALYSIS
With the growth in customers’ demand diversification, mixed-model U-lines (MMUL) have acquired increasing importance in the area of assembly systems. There are generally two different approaches in the literature for balancing such systems. Some researchers believe that since the types of models can be very diverse, a balancing approach without simultaneously sequencing of models will not yield...

متن کاملMulti-objective scheduling and assembly line balancing with resource constraint and cost uncertainty: A “box” set robust optimization
Assembly lines are flow-oriented production systems that are of great importance in the industrial production of standard, high-volume products and even more recently, they have become commonplace in producing low-volume custom products. The main goal of designers of these lines is to increase the efficiency of the system and therefore, the assembly line balancing to achieve an optimal system i...
